The Space
This wasn’t just about designing a new home — it was about creating a peaceful setting for a new chapter in life. For Mr. and Mrs. Ranganathan, comfort, ease, and a quiet sense of tradition were key. We began by opening up the layout to allow for plenty of natural light, keeping the palette soft and warm to create an inviting atmosphere throughout. Storage was integrated seamlessly — functional, but never intrusive — with easy-to-access cabinets and low-maintenance finishes chosen for both practicality and longevity. The kitchen was designed with modern efficiency in mind, while still allowing room for traditional South Indian cooking rituals. Subtle nods to their Chennai roots were woven in through details like carved wood accents, brass hardware, and textured fabrics, bringing a sense of familiarity to a contemporary space. The result is a home that feels rooted yet refreshed — calm, easy to maintain, and deeply personal.
